Will it work with my boiler?

Yes. HeatGo works with all oil boilers. The sensor detects vibrations to know when your boiler is running, no connection to your boiler's electronics needed. This means it works universally, regardless of your boiler's age, brand, or model.

How accurate is it?

HeatGo estimates your heating costs based on how long your boiler runs. You can calibrate the app to match your actual consumption, enter your last oil delivery, and the app adjusts automatically. Most users find it tracks within 10% of their actual usage over time.

How much can I save?

That depends on your home and habits. What HeatGo gives you is immediate feedback, if you insulate your loft, upgrade to smart radiator thermostats, or change your routine, you'll see the difference right away. HeatGo doesn't save you money—it shows you exactly where you can.

Does it need Wi-Fi?

No Wi-Fi is required; the device uses Bluetooth to connect directly to your phone or tablet for quick, simple setup.

How is oil use calculated?

Oil use is estimated from your boiler's run time and heat output, combined with your system settings. The app turns this into an easy-to-read usage estimate and trends, so you can track changes over time.

How long does setup take?

Setup is usually quick and straightforward. It typically takes around 1–3 minutes. Once installed, the app guides you step-by-step, and you'll start seeing data shortly after everything is connected.

What's the battery life?

HeatGo's battery lasts 2–3 years with normal use. The sensor only records when your boiler runs, so it uses very little power. When it's time to recharge, simply lift the sensor from the mounting plate and plug in the USB-C cable.

How do I see my data?

Open the HeatGo app on your phone, and it automatically syncs with the sensor via Bluetooth. You'll see daily, weekly, and monthly heating data. The sensor stores your history, so even if you don't open the app for weeks, all your data is waiting for you when you do.

Does it work with gas boilers?

HeatGo is built to work with gas boilers too—the sensor hardware is the same. We're currently testing and refining the gas firmware to ensure accuracy. If you buy HeatGo now for your oil boiler, you'll receive a free firmware update when gas support is ready, so your sensor will work with both.

Where do I place the sensor?

Place HeatGo directly on your boiler—anywhere on the metal surface works. It uses a two-part mount: stick the base plate with the included adhesive, then attach the sensor. If you ever need to charge it, just lift off the sensor without disturbing the mount.

Can it tell me when to order oil?

HeatGo shows you how much oil you're using day by day, so you can estimate when you'll need a refill based on your patterns. A direct "time to order" notification isn't available yet, but it's on our roadmap.
